This is perhaps the most important cemetery in the Canary Islands. It is known for being the resting place of many of the great names from Gran Canaria’s last 200 years of history. The building and enclosure dates back to 1811. At the beginning you can find a number of tombs dating from the beginning of the 19th century. A number of family graves are built like a chapel. The oldest graves can be found right next to the entrance.
